Street Pastors

Want to know more...

At HHCC we are proud to support and encourage Street Pastors, several of our leaders are activily involved in this. Hemel Hempstead Street Pastors is the church on the street working together. They are passionate about God and our local community.

Street Pastors is a multi church initiative across Hemel Hempstead. Christians providing a real response to real issues on the street. To be a visible presence of peace, kindness and Christ’s love on the streets of our town, offering reassurance and help to anyone who has need.

Street pastors are trained volunteers from local churches who care about their community. They patrol in teams of men and women, usually from 10 pm to 2 am on a Friday and Saturday night.

“Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. They are like beacons on our streets and I want to see them shining brightly in every constituency.”
David Burrowes MP, Patron of Street Pastors

Here are some thoughts from a Street Pastor in our church family.

"We were just finishing our shift at 2am when we met a young man in a very distressed state. It took us an hour to get him home although he lived very close, we had to keep stopping on the way. But on arriving at his flat he asked us to come in and pray with him. We joined hands with him and he prayed for Jesus to come into his life. A great end to a good night, for him and for us".
