HHCC 2024 Focus
Hearing God's Voice
As we start to think about the New Year, we would like to share with you a specific focus that God has placed on our hearts for the Church Family in 2024. This focus is “Hearing God’s Voice”.
“The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.”
John‬ â€10‬:â€27‬ â€AMP
We believe that God wants to enable us all to know how to listen to and recognise His voice more. The purpose of this is to lead us into a deeper relationship with Him.
Although God speaks to us in a multitude of different ways, the Bible, the written word God, is the foundation upon which every word that God speaks is established.
On our journey of faith, every step of our walk with God is directed by what God has said and the words He is saying to us now. Both the written word and the words God is speaking to us every day should resonate in harmony together. To enable us to recognise and understand what God is saying to us, we need to have a growing understanding of the Bible.
The Bible was not designed just to inform us; it is designed to transform us. To lead us into a greater understanding and a personal relationship with the God of the Bible. Although God did not write the Bible He inspired every word we find in it! (2 Tim 3:16-17)
We are going to be using ‘The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel’ which is a daily Bible reading plan that will take us through the whole Bible in 365 days.
Each day includes passages from a Psalm or Proverb, the New Testament and the Old Testament along with a daily commentary from Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, who are pioneers of the Alpha course. We will be using the Classic Edition. You can access the daily reading plan via The Bible in One Year website.
How will we do this?
The ‘Bible In One Year’ provide different ways of receiving the daily readings and devotions. All of the tools and resources they provide are free. See below the different options!
